The Yum! Brands has admitted a cyber attack. The company owns the fast food chains KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, among others. During the attack, the attackers are said to have viewed internal information.
According to an official note, according to the current state of knowledge, the attackers only had access to employee data. During the attacks, personal information such as names and driver’s license numbers could be copied. The group of companies is currently writing to affected employees. How many that is has not yet been communicated.
What happened?
On January 18, 2023, a ransomware attack is said to have occurred. How the attackers got access to the systems and what damage was done is not yet known.
