Apple iPad: Apple working on dock just like Amazon Echo Show, to launch new iPad with M2 chip soon

Apple is currently busy working on a new M2 Chip powered iPad and as per recent reports, the tech giant has big plans for the product.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Cupertino-based giant is turning its new iPad into a smart display and speaker, just like a smart home device such as Facebook Portal or Amazon Echo Show.

According to the report, Apple can introduce these smart capabilities into its iPads very soon.

The report further reveals that the new M2 iPads will arrive in a few days and it will come packed with a docking accessory that comes equipped with a speaker.

An iPad docking station could allow users to make calls via FaceTime and gain hands-free control of smart home devices. It will be similar to the Amazon Fire tablet that allows users to put the devices into a charging dock to become a smart display.

The tech giant’s 11-inch and 12.9-inch M2 iPads have been given the code names of J617 and J620, respectively. It will flaunt the same processor chip that Apple introduced in the new MacBook Air.

But for this launch, Apple will not be holding a big event, the report added.

Apple is also reportedly working on an updated version of HomePod, which can come with an updated display, an S8 chip and multi-touch functionality.

The company is also planning a combined Apple TV and smart speaker device equipped with a camera. The iPad and iPad Pro’s display is a key component of the user experience.

Meanwhile, the iPad Pro may also come with wireless charging with MagSafe and mini LED, backlighting for the 11-inch iPad Pro.

On the other hand, Apple also plans to release new MacBook models in the fourth quarter this year. And going by the previous announcements, the company may launch its new products in October.

As per several reports and speculations, Apple is gearing up to launch a 15-inch MacBook Air and a 12-inch device by early 2024. Along with these products, Apple may also unveil a new MacBook Pro with 5-nanometer chips.
